In class activities include Reading-we do two days of guided, whole group instruction, and 3 days of reading groups. The rotation is: reading groups, seatwork, and centers; such as reading, listening (books, with cassette tapes), writing, and computer use involving different aspects of reading and math. Math we often use manipulatives to help us practice and learn, such as; unifix cubes, counters, plastic coins and base-ten blocks.
I have worked with 1st grade for 5 years, Pre-Kindergarten - Kindergarten for 8 years, 1 year as a substitute for Pre-Kindergarten-5th grade.
