A Message From The Principal:

Dear Parents and Guardians,

It is with great enthusiasm that I look forward to the 2013/2014 school year.  There are many changes in place this year, including a change in administration.  Mr. Dennis Blauser has moved from the Mt. Vista campus and is now the Superintendent of the Oracle School District.  Mr. Blauser and I will continue to work as a team who is always focused on the best interests of the students in the Oracle School District.

As the district transitions into the new Common Core State Standards, we will have many programs in place to assure that your children will be successful.  All classes will be staffed with Highly Qualified teachers, grade level teams will work together to assure consistency, and vertical teams will meet to communicate needs between grade levels.  There will also be AIMS tutoring available for those identified as at-risk, and homework help will available at every grade level.  Information concerning these services will be sent home by teachers in Wednesday folders.

In order to assure that you are informed about programs and events, the school publishes a handbook that is given to all students.  It will inform you of such events as our Honor Role ceremonies, parent/teacher conferences, holidays, and other breaks.  It outlines our dress code and discipline policies.  You will also find information on how you may contact teachers.  I encourage you to refer often to this handy resource.

Students will receive a Wednesday folder each week.  In it you will find a weekly grade report and other communication from the school and your child’s teacher.  Students at all grade levels receive a progress report each week.  If you are not getting that report, please contact your child’s teacher.

Sadly, due to budget cuts, we have had to temporarily cut some of our special programs.  Art will now be taught in the classroom by your child’s regular ed teacher.  Children at grade levels one through six will receive PE instruction twice a week.  Students in seventh and eighth grade will receive PE instruction once a week.  Our plan is to bring music back next school year.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns you may have, or just drop by to visit.  I look forward to meeting you.
